We’re hiring a Culinary Assistant at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.

The Culinary Assistant will collaborate with the ES Culinary Team. Key duties include preparing daily breakfasts and lunches, assisting with weekly event catering, managing inventory, stocking supplies, planning menus, and supporting special projects as well as general clean-up.

Primary Responsibilities

Work directly with the ES Culinary Team and the Executive Chef to learn about basic gardening, proper culinary technique, and a variety of culinary projects.

Help and prepare Monday - Friday breakfasts and lunches

Work with ES Culinary Team to put out weekly parties for meetings and special events that are hosted

Assist in inventory control, learning ordering and uses

Help with stocking of all snack, coffee and drinks for staff

Help plan weekly menus

Assist with any No Child Hungry projects and Disaster Relief Projects

Assist with clean up and special detailing projects

Skills & Qualifications

Have a desire to pursue culinary arts or have a strong desire to work in the culinary field

Basic knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen equipment or willing to learn

Gardening skills are a plus - have to be willing to learn garden to plate

Must be willing to multitask and be willing to get challenged by the job

Be able to take direction and feedback

You have a strong desire to take on new challenges with a positive attitude

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures/environments

Education and Experience:

Food industry experience required
