WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

As a $3 billion organization with more than 17,000 employees and thousands of dedicated volunteers, the American Red Cross depends on people with diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives to advance its mission. Together, we provide relief and support during crises, help communities prepare and respond to emergencies, and ensure access to lifesaving blood and resources.

The Supply Management organization plays a critical role in supporting this mission by ensuring the effective sourcing, delivery, and supplier management of the goods and services the Red Cross depends on every day. Increasingly, our ability to make sound decisions depends on our ability to transform data into timely, accurate, and actionable business intelligence.

The Data Analyst I, Business Intelligence supports this work by collecting, organizing, analyzing and visualizing data to help Supply Management understand performance, identify trends and opportunies, and make better-informed decisions. Working with Supply Management leaders, category teams, business stakeholders and cross-functional partners, this position helps translate business questions into meaningful analysis, reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Management Analytics, the Data Analyst I works to strengthen the organization’s use of data and business intelligence. The Analyst supports recurring and ad hoc reporting, develops and maintains dashboards and performance metrics, performs data validation and analysis, and helps turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.

This is an opportunity for an early-career analyst to develop technical and business intelligence capabilities while gaining exposure to procurement, suppliers, contracts, financial performance, operations, and enterprise decision-making. The successful candidate will bring curiosity, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and an interest in understanding not simply what the data says, but what it means for business and the mission.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States.

The Data Analyst I, Business Intelligence provides analytical, reporting, and business intelligence support to the Supply Management organization. The position works with data from multiple sources to develop reports, dashboards, metrics, and analyses that improve visibility into business performance and support planning and decision-making.

Working under the guidance of management and more senior analysts, the Data Analyst I also supports the development and continuous improvement of business intelligence tools, reporting processes, data standards, and performance metrics. The position collaborates with business stakeholders and technical partners to understand information needs, improve data integrity, and help create scalable and repeatable analytical solutions.

Assist with feasibility studies, business case development and analysis, market research, and tracking and reporting of operational and project performance.

5. Data Integrity & Business Intelligence. Support senior analysts in maintaining procurement data taxonomy, data models, cost models, and business intelligence tools. Perform routine data validation, identify and help resolve data-quality issues, and improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of information to support reliable reporting and establish a strong data foundation for advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.

6. Stakeholder Communication. Prepare clear, user-friendly reports, visualizations, dashboards, and analytical summaries using established data and methodologies. Communicate trends, findings, and insights to Supply Management and business partners to support data-informed decision-making.
