A permanent job opportunity has arisen for a "Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer" within Airbus Defence & Space to be based on Getafe site in Spain. The successful candidate will join the Mechanical Systems Installation department at the Airbus Derivatives area and will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team, covering the integration of Derivatives mechanical systems for a military program. The Mechanical System Installation team stands for Quality & Improvement related to Fuel, Hydraulic, Environmental Control System, Equipment integration on aircraft among others.

It is a dynamic area, leading digital product innovation and LEAN Design, team working with an AGILE mindset, adding value within Mechanical systems requirements integration and trouble shooting issues in production and in service.

The Position is aiming to support on the development for military programs and will be integrated in the multidisciplinary team of Mechanical System Installation Design

• The main activities of a Mechanical System integration & Design Engineer are related with delivering technical solutions in support of building, test and delivery aircraft:
• · Mechanical Systems definition from System Architecture
• · Mechanical Components Specification for purchasing
• · Mechanical Parts Documentation for Manufacturing
• · Mechanical Systems Installation Documentation for assembling

· Support various stakeholders with technical knowledge (e.g. supply chain and office, quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, production and assembly, M&P, stress analysis, Chief Engineer, Architecture and Integration, Airworthiness and Certification,…).

• Associated competencies to main activities are:
• · Systems requirement challenging
• · Criteria for systems segregation
• · Definition of systems component position
• · Components selection, specification and practical application
• · Selection of Manufacturing Technologies
• · Assembly and Maintainability instructions
• · Production and Service Support concurring
• · Documents revision & edition

• · Design & Product improvement activities
• · Support cross-program configuration control and cross-functional procedures

· Design and Validation of mechanical system installation components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while highest safety of the product is assured using appropriate design tools.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• •Educated in an Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
• •Over 7 years of experience in Engineering, in a Design/Airframe Department.
• •Knowledge in MSI design, including CATIA V5 knowledge.
• •Professional experience as Engineer / Designer on Fluid Systems Installations (hydraulic, fuel, pneumatics, etc) and Equipment installations (sensor &antennas, lights and cameras, cockpit installations, etc.)
• •High adaptability to work on new topics, new business and in a network mode.
• •Advanced level in English (Spanish as mother tongue)
• •French would be an asset.
• •Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• •Able to propose new ideas.
