Purpose

Accountable for the performance, regulatory readiness & results of large, strategic / diverse disciplines cross-functional teams or departments over a large functional domain or multiple HMs. Enables HM level strategy to address internal or external business & regulatory issues . P rovide functional expertise & ensure fulfillment of performance & service standards. Identifies, defines & solves complex problems that impact the management & direction of the business; Collaborates with Service Area, Regions & Health Ministries to ensure consistency & integration of strategy & operations. Provides decision support, operations & / or optimization leadership focus. R esponsible for making decisions & managing risk that impact day-to-day health ministry functional operations, with potential for a short- to mid-term impact on the enterprise. Oversees a direct staff that includes managers with direct reports

Essential Functions

Leadership: Providing advice, guidance & leadership to HM & Region leaders in developing strategies & in the achievement of performance goals. Enable c ollaboration across & within service area, HM & Regions to ensure consistency & integration of strategy & operations.

Direction & Growth: Providing advice, guidance & leadership to service area, functional area, HM & Regions. Leading standardization / systemness & optimization of policy, process, methodology, establishing a national community of practice. Oversee Vendor / Contract Labor Management including centralizing strategy & optimizing spend.

Strategic Support & Accountability: Collaborates in system-wide strategy development & deployment of functional area priorities & initiatives. Responsible for supporting regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities. Accountable for the selection, evaluation & overall success of the functional leadership teams. Organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies & governance over financials & staffing. Accountable for communication between service area functional area, RHM & Region leaders.

Operational Delivery : Responsible for measuring & reporting KPIs / metrics & value delivery. Providing advice, guidance & leadership for the colleague life cycle.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable f ederal, state & local laws / regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of C onduct, as well as other policies , procedures & guidelines to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices .

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)

Directs & provides strategic leadership & oversight for continuous optimization & performance improvement of Medical Group Revenue Cycle operations , including, registration, insurance Verification, point of service c ollections, authorizations, charge capture & charge controls, revenue integrity & optimization, coding & general practice revenue cycle operations ; May have oversight for payer enrollment & credentialing & other practice related functions.

Directs the implementation of current & future best practices for revenue cycle functions to allow all practices to be efficient & market relevant, including overseeing the implementation & monitoring of adherence to payer contracts & procedures .

Directs in the selection & facilitation of appropriate process & technology training of colleagues to achieve technical proficiency, efficiency, regulatory compliance & customer service in r evenue c ycle areas; Oversees budgets & targets allowing for financial oversight of the r evenue c ycle department functions.

Minimum Qualifications

B achelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of management experience in a multi-facility, integrated health care delivery system or revenue cycle or consulting experience.

Solid understanding of ICD-10 & CPT coding & medical terminology.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

Epic experience preferred.

Knowledge of accounting systems & insurance issues, healthcare industry issues and trends, legal issues in field of expertise , required third party & governmental guidelines & work processing.
