Division Director

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Patient Care Models Group (PCMG), Division of Payment Models (DPM). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, referred to here as a Division Director, GS-0107-15, you will direct highly skilled health insurance specialists and analysts in the successful implementation and operation of alternative payment models.

Duties

• •Direct the work of DPM and plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
• •Direct the development and implementation of models that test innovative payment approaches that incentivize care redesign around the continuum of care in acute and post acute care settings.
• •Provide technical leadership and expertise to various CMS and non-governmental entities on health care payment and delivery system reform alternatives.
• •Develop and maintain collaborative relationships through mutual understanding of providers' needs and concerns while simultaneously engaging providers in CMS goals of providing better care and better health at lower cost through quality improvement.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Analyzing policies to determine the impact on program operations; AND Leading cross-functional teams in implementing or developing healthcare payment or delivery care approaches (e.g., artificial intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, or digital health tools); AND Providing technical advice or recommendations to stakeholders (e.g., Government officials, policy makers, healthcare providers, state agencies, congressional members) on healthcare payment or delivery system alternatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
