ABOUT TALON.ONE:

Talon. One is the most powerful incentives engine that unifies loyalty, promotions and gamification into one holistic platform. Backed by enterprise-grade security and scalability, Talon. One empowers companies to build personalized, profitable promotions and loyalty programs using any data.

Today, over 250 of the world’s most-loved brands including Adidas, Sephora and Carlsberg work with Talon. One to drive deeper engagement and lasting loyalty with their customers.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

The Developer Experience (DevX) team supports customers integrating and using Talon.One. The team is responsible for the product docs, developer docs, in-product UX copy, and the technical infrastructure behind the docs platform. Our primary audience spans two groups: marketing users operating the product (campaign managers, loyalty managers), and backend engineers integrating our APIs.

We use the docs-as-code approach. The content lives in GitHub and the documentation website runs on Docusaurus. The API reference is generated from OpenAPI specifications.

We are looking for a Documentation Engineer to help us extend our documentation platform and write new documentation for our customers. You will sit within the DevX team and work with Product teams. You write code and build tooling, and you also write documentation: reference content, integration guides, and developer-facing copy that no automation can produce to the right standard.

ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:

Write reference documentation, integration guides, tutorials, and product documentation

Work in tandem with our current documentation engineer to find new ideas and solutions to current challenges

Co-own the pipeline from OpenAPI spec to published API reference: validation, transformation, and deployment

Build and maintain the scripts and CI jobs

Reduce manual work for the technical writing team through tooling and process improvements

Make deliberate decisions about how documentation is structured for AI agent consumption, not only human readers

Contribute to OpenAPI spec quality by working with writers and engineers on field naming, example coverage, and schema structure

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

Developer empathy. You approach and write docs to increase an integrating engineer’s efficiency. You can produce clear, accurate content, not just tooling around it

You can write code without AI as a crutch. You write scripts, debug error output, and ship working solutions independently

Comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript. Our tooling uses it throughout

Fluency with CI/CD pipelines

Experience working with or reading OpenAPI 3.x specifications

Clear understanding of what makes documentation machine-readable, not only human-readable

Practical experience with AI tools, especially Claude. You use them daily and know how to prompt for useful output

A preference for correctness over volume. You know when to automate and when automation produces noise

OUR TECHNOLOGY:

Docusaurus for the docs site

GitHub and GitHub Actions for content workflows and CI

Scalar for API reference rendering

OpenAPI 3.x as the single source of truth for API docs

JavaScript/TypeScript for tooling and site customization

Claude for AI-assisted workflows

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

90+ team of engineers, product managers and product designers in Berlin

Leaders with 8+ years of experience building our promotions engine

€1,000 annual learning budget and free German language courses to boost your skills

30 days of annual leave, plus extra paid days for your birthday and moving day

Home office setup budget, a monthly home office allowance

Freedom to work from abroad for up to 90 days worldwide!

Mental health support with nilo.health and a discounted Urban Sports Club membership

20% company subsidy on your pension contributions

Subsidised BVG public transport ticket and a dog-friendly Berlin office where your furry friend is welcome

Lease your ideal bike through BusinessBike
