7.5 tonne Driver
Warwick HSSU Hub | Sterile Services Unit | Full Time
From £25,800 based on 37.5 hours, enhancements for unsocial hours, overtime paid at 50%
Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you hold a full driving licence with C1 entitlement, allowing you to drive rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), and possess a digital tachograph card, you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK's largest Healthcare Charity.
A full Driver Qualification Card (CPC - Certificate of Professional Competence) is advantageous; however, full training and support are available for the right candidate.
As a Driver within our HSSU team, you'll be comfortable with manual handling and moving transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg. You'll have a basic knowledge of drivers' hours legislation, working time directive and ideally hold a digital tachograph card. As one of the first points of contact for our customers, you'll be a professional ambassador for both our unit and Nuffield Health.
As a Driver, your duties will include:
- Collect and deliver sterile surgical equipment to our hospital customers.
- Operate planned delivery routes with a maximum of four customer deliveries/collections per shift.
- Provide a professional, reliable, and customer-focused service.
- Keep vehicles and equipment in good working order and report any faults or defects promptly.
- Maintain a clean, tidy working environment and identify any stock issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate tachograph records and transport documentation.
- Be flexible with working hours. Shifts operate between 4am and 9pm, Monday to Friday, with varying start and finish times on Saturdays.
Helping you feel good
We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy, and valued. That's why we've developed a benefits package with you in mind, including:
- Free gym membership and discounted family memberships.
- Free private healthcare, discounted for family members
- Full uniform and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) provided.
- Generous holiday entitlement plus additional paid wellbeing days.
- Enhanced pay rates, including night enhancements between 7pm and 7am.
- Overtime paid after 37.5 hours.
- Annual pay reviews
- Free onsite parking.
- CPC top-up training provided.
- Modern Mercedes-Benz 7.5-tonne vehicles fitted with tail lifts.
This is not a multi-drop driving role. Drivers typically complete a maximum of four customer deliveries or collections per shift, allowing greater focus on safety, customer service, and vehicle care.
