EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST of NAVMEDFORLANT PORTSMOUTH VA.

Duties

• •You will serve as a primary Emergency Management (EM) coordinator with the respective Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and host installation EM Officers.
• •You will review Department of War (DoW), Navy Emergency Management instructions and directives and update regional policy and procedures.
• •You will consult and advise non-MTF Emergency Mangers (MEMs) and partnering agencies the details of current EM directives.
• •You will develop and maintain the tenant Emergency Action Plan (EAP) that aligns with NMCP and host installation EM plans.
• •You will review and ensure all personnel training is conducted and conduct an annual self-assessment using the EM Self-Assessment Checklist and forward to (BUMED) Director, Emergency Management (N45).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing knowledge of the full range of advanced principles and practices of Emergency Management to properly manage the Emergency Management Program. Experience utilizing knowledge of multiple automated Incident Management Systems (IMS) and Wide Area Alert Network (WAAN) options in support of incident response. Experience utilizing knowledge on the familiarity of the National Response Framework Plan (NRF), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), and Hospital Incident Management System (HICS). Experience communicating effectively, orally and in writing, to executive and senior leadership. Experience developing and conducting daily weather briefs.
