Duties

• •Develop and implement plans to accomplish program goals.
• •Modify policies and procedures to comply with applicable guidance.
• •Conduct studies and surveys to identify problems and recommends modifications to operations or oversees outside contractors to complete projects.
• •Develop and/or review all environmental documentation relating to assigned areas for GPO

Qualifications

To qualify for the Environmental Protection Specialist, PG-0028-12, you must meet the following requirements: You must possess 52 weeks of the following specialized experience at the next lower grade level, PG-11 or equivalent: Specialized experience includes: performing inspections and documentation on environmental issues, hazardous waste, air quality compliance, or wastewater discharge, developing and implementing plans to accomplish program goals, and modifying policies and procedures to comply with applicable guidance. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (09/28/2026) to be considered.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.
