Description
The Facilities Team Member is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and general upkeep of The Faison Center's facilities to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. This position provides repairs and maintenance services as needed and maintains tools, equipment, supplies, and the maintenance shop to effectively perform assigned duties.
Essential Core Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Follows and executes a regular schedule of preventive maintenance and upkeep as coordinated with supervisor
- Completes regular walk-throughs of facilities and records and addresses any needed repairs
- Completes facilities upgrades as directed by supervisor to ensure the safety of staff and individuals served
- Assists with furniture and equipment assembly as directed
Repair
- Completes repairs as needed to facilities, equipment and furniture
- Ensures follow through and communication on all repairs requiring multiple steps that may span several days
Facilities Administration
- Reviews and updates Building Maintenance Requests database
- Ensures that supplies are stocked and in useful order
- Provides recommendations to supervisor regarding needed equipment, maintenance or repair
- Communicates effectively with supervisor, program and other staff regarding facilities activities
- Assists with organizational activities including meeting setup, storage organization and other duties as requested by supervisor

- Ability to perform job duties including mechanical troubleshooting, light carpentry and related activities
- Ability to communicate effectively
Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Essential Physical Requirements
Lift 50 pounds
