Financial Program Specialist

Summary

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Bank Policy and Oversight Division. As a Financial Program Specialist, you will manage banking relationships and establish consistent policies and procedures for all Bureau of the Fiscal Service offices that contract with banks for systems and services.

Duties

As a Financial Program Specialist, you will: Collaborate with agency stakeholders to strengthen working relationships, provide expert guidance, resolve issues, and oversee responsibilities related to banking contracts with the Bureau of Fiscal Service. Oversee financial programs and processes to evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness, identify root causes of issues, and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and program management. Promote bureau-wide awareness of banking oversight requirements by disseminating relevant information to stakeholder programs and banking partners. This may include hosting webinars, conferences, and other outreach initiatives. Support the preparation of executive-level status trackers of programs to assess expiration dates, service extensions, and future strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes applying project management principles to develop and deliver outreach, training, and communication strategies that educate stakeholders on financial policies, compliance requirements, operational processes, or financial systems. When the Bureau of the Fiscal Service completes its hiring, the remaining list of qualified candidates may be shared with additional Treasury bureaus.
