Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Region, Yellowtail Dam, Fort Smith Village, Montana. Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: This position is designated as a "Work/Crew Lead" position and provides leadership and provision of technical knowledge, with responsibility for the productivity of a small crew. Leads a variety of maintenance duties and crafts for industrial facilities and equipment associated with dams, hydroelectric power plants, and related facilities. Performs day-to-day skilled journeyman industrial facility and equipment maintenance work in the craft(s) for which the incumbent is qualified. Provides short-term planning and coordination of work and resources; relays instructions from the supervisor to the workers; advises on proper work methods; ensures that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available; obtains needed instructions or decisions from the supervisor on work problems; understands and explains standard operating procedures, deadlines, directives, etc. to workers; checks work in progress, as well as upon completion; ensures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed; and reports status and progress of work to supervisor.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability to lead or supervise (SCREEN OUT) Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation and repair, etc. Knowledge of materials Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Troubleshooting If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factors above are not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
