Established in 2022, NOA (Net Zero Africa) is a fully integrated energy company that generates, procures, aggregates and delivers clean, competitively priced electricity to commercial and industrial businesses across South Africa. Licensed as a trader by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (approved 31 January 2025), we exist to REpower the African economy — helping customers reach net-zero while securing long-term energy savings.

Backed by $245 million in equity capital from Old Mutual's African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), we have 1.5 GW of generation capacity under construction, from NOA-owned wind, solar PV and battery storage sites alongside trusted independent power producers (IPPs).

About the role

• NOA's Technology team is seeking Graduate Technology Analysts to join our 12-month graduate programme across Software Engineering, Product Design & Data Science. We are looking for individuals who are curious, technically minded and genuinely excited about building the digital backbone of a fast-scaling renewable energy business.

Our Graduate Technology Analysts contribute to the systems, tools and products that power how NOA generates, trades and delivers clean energy — whether that's writing code, designing user experiences, or building the data models that drive decision-making.
• Whichever specialisation you join, you will work alongside experienced engineers, designers and analysts, solving genuinely novel problems as NOA's technology platform scales alongside the business.

Key accountabilities

Support the design, development and testing of software applications and platform features (Software Engineering track).

Contribute to UI/UX design and business intelligence dashboards that make complex data usable for internal teams and customers (Product Design track).

Build and maintain data pipelines, models and analytics that support decision-making across the business (Data Science track).

Collaborate with engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into working solutions.

Participate in code reviews, design reviews and data quality checks, learning best practice from senior team members.

Contribute to documentation, testing and continuous improvement of NOA's technology tools and platforms.

Continuously learn new tools, languages and platforms as NOA's technology stack evolves.

Role requirements

Qualifications:

Software Engineering & Data Science: a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Product Design: a relevant qualification in UI/UX design, Business Intelligence or a related design/technical discipline (specific qualification requirements to be confirmed based on specialisation).

A strong academic record, with a demonstrated aptitude for logical, structured thinking.

Experience:

No formal work experience is required — this is a graduate-entry role.

Personal or academic projects, internships, hackathons, open-source contributions or a design portfolio (for Product Design applicants) are advantageous .

Technical & f unctional c ompetencies:

Solid programming fundamentals in at least one language, with an understanding of data structures & algorithms

Familiarity with SQL &/or Python is advantageous .

Product Design: familiarity with design tools (such as Figma) & UI/UX or business intelligence principles.

Data Science applicants: a foundational understanding of statistics & data analysis techniques.
