About the Position: This position is located at Eglin AFB, Florida. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive MAY be authorized. Student Loan repayment MAY be authorized. Advanced in hire MAY be authorized. Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

• •Perform duties of the Patient Experience Officer and MTF Patient Advocate.
• •Administers both the Customer Service and Patient Advocacy Programs.
• •Function as the principal staff advisor to MTF leadership for internal and external customer service matters.
• •Identify MTF staff and patient needs and concerns making recommendations for improvement and implementing changes.
• •Advises MTF leadership of negative patterns and trends related to customer service.
• •Gather data to determine customer service training effectiveness, pinpoint problem areas, and ensure compliance with training requirements.
• •Disseminate information to improve patient's knowledge of medical services, options, processes and concern resolution.
• •Conduct experience improvement analysis to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of the Customer Service and Patient Advocacy programs.
• •Provide a communication channel through which patients seek solutions to problems, concerns and unmet needs.
• •Conduct interviews with health care professionals, support staff, and patients to determine the most appropriate action for the medical group.
• •Perform periodic rounds on wards and clinics to gather up-to-date information and to keep abreast of patient care activities.
• •Assist patients in understanding their rights in addition to their responsibilities

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with developing processes to improve patient safety and collaborating with various medical departments to assess compliance with patient safety regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
