Health System Specialist (Clinical Quality/Risk Management)

About the Position: This position is located at the 59th Medical Wing - Joint Base San Antonio - Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center; Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

• •Plan, organize, direct, and manage the Clinical Quality/Performance Improvement programs for two geographically separated Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF), ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet organizational needs.
• •Analyze, lead, and coach improvement projects using established process improvement tools and methodologies to improve health services delivery systems and support operations for assigned MTFs.
• •Implement and manage the organization's Self-Inspection program and serves as the Self-Assessment Program Manager for the Commanders' Inspection Program (CCIP).
• •Direct the organization's self-inspection program and apply expert knowledge of health systems and/or other related programs and requirements to provide information, advice and/or guidance to the staff.
• •Manage and monitor Joint Commission regulator elements and serve as a database system administrator within the organization.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing healthcare quality or risk data; supporting quality improvement initiatives; and identifying and reducing risks of adverse events in a healthcare facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
