Description

Position Summary

Responsible for coordinating and facilitating organization-wide training and development programs, including new-hire orientation, leadership development, Team Member engagement, compliance training, and professional growth initiatives. Maintains training records, resources, schedules, and HRIS documentation while assessing training needs and supporting program development. Ensures training programs align with organizational objectives, policies, and confidentiality requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and facilitates comprehensive training and development programs for all levels of casino resort Team Members, from New Hire Orientation through executive leadership for Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
  • Coordinates and facilitates New Hire Orientation, ensuring Team Members understand the organization’s culture, Mission, Vision, Values (MVV), policies, procedures, expectations, benefits, and Guest service standards.
  • Assesses organizational, departmental, and individual training needs through surveys, feedback, observations, performance trends, and consultation with supervisors, managers, and leaders.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers engaging and effective instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and on-the-job training, including specialized departmental training and learning resources.
  • Creates, uploads, administers, and maintains training courses and content within the HRIS/Learning Management System (LMS), including assignments, tracking, assessments, completion records, certifications, reporting, and required training.
  • Coordinates and facilitates leadership, supervisory, executive, Guest service, culture, communication, Team Member engagement, and professional development programs, as instructed.
  • Coordinates required and compliance-related training, including harassment prevention, workplace violence prevention, safety, workplace conduct, and other organizational or regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with department leaders and subject matter experts to develop and implement department-specific training and train-the-trainer resources.
  • Coordinates and maintains ongoing organizational development initiatives, including mentoring, career development, change management, and Team Member engagement programs.
  • Maintains accurate training records, calendars, metrics, reports, spreadsheets, training materials, and resource libraries; monitors completion and follows up on compliance requirements.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, observations, performance outcomes, and training data; recommends improvements and enhancements.
  • Provides training, consultation, resources, and support to supervisors, managers, directors, and executive leadership.
  • Supports Team Member engagement survey initiatives and other organizational programs designed to strengthen culture, performance, retention, and Team Member development.
  • Ensures training programs and practices align with company policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and tribal employment requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality and safeguards sensitive Team Member, training, and Human Resources information.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other Human Resources, training, development, and related functions.
  • Assists with the Chinook Winds Mentor/Protégé Program, in relation to training as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all Human Resources matters.
  • Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.

Experience

Two years’ experience in Human Resources with knowledge of Training & Development.

Two years’ experience working in an Administrative/Office setting.

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office intermediate level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Proficient (or the ability to quickly learn) advanced HRIS systems.

Intermediate to advanced use of PowerPoint. A ten (10) minute skill test presentation is required as part of the interview process, with unanimous panel agreement necessary to move forward in the process.

Certificates & Licenses

Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License.

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, HRCI PHR or HRCI SPHR certification preferred.

Other Requirements

Knowledge of in-person and online training applications, adult learning, and employment law.

Work Environment

Work will take place in a small office environment with occasional exposure to a busy resort and gaming environment with multiple distractions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Occasionally the work environment will be in locations exposed to smoke and the associated effects.

Working Conditions

Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, and completing a 180-day introductory period.
