Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to play a critical role in supporting See’s Candies’ high-volume, fast-moving HR operations at our La Cienega facility, ensuring smooth operations during the peak period (August-January). This position partners closely with the HR team to execute essential people processes while delivering dependable, solutions-oriented support to employees and leaders.
Success in this position requires a strong foundation in customer service within an organizational setting, someone who listens well, communicates with clarity and empathy, and consistently models HR best practices. The HR Coordinator must take pride in accuracy, follow-through, and safeguarding sensitive information, while also demonstrating the flexibility necessary to support a broad range of tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
The pay range for this position is expected to be $24-$30 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Workday to process HR transactions, maintain employee data, and generate reports while ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Coordinate high-volume recruitment activities including researching and supporting job fairs, job postings, interview scheduling, and consistent candidate communication through the recruitment-to-hire cycle.
Manage onboarding workflows in Workday and support a smooth new hire experience with weekly orientation implementation; conduct new hire orientation sessions to ensure employees understand Company policies, procedures, and expectations.
Manage offboarding workflows in Workday and support a smooth layoff experience, perform “stay interviews” to garner feedback to improve hiring and retention.
Support Payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy by assisting with timesheet reviews, corrections, and employee inquiries related to hours worked and pay. Ensuring pay is correct and is aligned with policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) frameworks.
Serve as a first point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries with a customer-service mindset. Support in the investigation process with documentation practices, research and other assigned tasks as related.
Assist our internal stakeholders by reviewing and filtering initial contact/inquiries from employees to ensure they are properly supported and provided correct guidance and resources as it relates to benefits, LOA, WC etc.
Work on employee scheduling and support efforts to notify employees of shift assignments or changes; ensuring scheduling aligns with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) framework.
Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. This includes but is not limited to I-9 and E-Verifying processing.
Provide administrative support to the HR team, such as data entry, filing, responding to general HR inquiries, and preparing reports and/or communications.
Participate in HR initiatives and provide flexible support during high-volume periods.
Demonstrate a commitment to See’s core principles and workplace values, including respect, integrity, teamwork, diversity, and inclusion.
Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by HR management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish & English
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR Coordinator or similar role; Workday experience strongly preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Workday
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
Flexibility to work extended hours as needed during peak season during August – January
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to work on site in our La Cienega facility
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Workday ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)
Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
Previous experience in retail, manufacturing, or seasonal hiring
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
