Duties

• •Process personnel actions such as promotions, resignations, LWOP requests, return-to-duty actions, appointment conversions, and name changes while tracking personnel requests and coordinating with HR offices.
• •Administer the civilian awards program by reviewing award nominations, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing award packages, and coordinating employee recognition activities.
• •Manage the performance appraisal program (DPMAP) by providing guidance to supervisors and employees, tracking appraisal deadlines, resolving routine issues, and ensuring performance records are properly completed.
• •Maintain personnel records and tracking systems by creating reports, managing databases and spreadsheets, monitoring suspense actions, and identifying and resolving data discrepancies
• •Coordinate employee onboarding and system access by conducting civilian employee in-processing, processing in/out-processing documents, and administering personnel system access and user accounts.

Basic Requirement for an Human Resources Specialist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes creating or tracking personal actions and assisting in providing guidance on operating policies or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management and Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
