The Controls Technician III position for Building Automation Systems (BAS) is critical to our success in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service as it relates to the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems while maintaining quality and profitability.

Location: Washington DC / Bowie, MD / Alexandria, VA / Baltimore, MD

The Controls Technician III will provide technician support for Building Automation Systems (BAS), service contracts, system upgrades, and controls related service requests.

• •Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• •Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
• •Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• •Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
• •Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
• •Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
• •Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
• •Provide training and follow-ups for Customers and operations personnel.
• •Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
• •Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• •High School Diploma or GED.
• •5+ years related experience.
• •Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• •Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an accommodation.
• •Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.

Preferred Qualifications:

• •Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians.
• •OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
• •Current first aid / CPR card.
• •Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
• •Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
• •Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
• •Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
• •Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
• •Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
• •Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
• •Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
• •Good verbal and written communication skills.
• •Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
• •Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
• •Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 -$68.39 in DC/MD/VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
