Connected Logistics is seeking an Information Security Analyst, SME to be a Pod Lead for RMF Steps 1 through 3 and assist in providing the Department of State Directorate of Technology (DT), Enterprise Architecture (EA), Cyber Security Team (CST) comprehensive cybersecurity support services to protect critical consular systems and data. The CST Cyber portfolio ensures compliance with federal mandates including the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF), encompassing security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and continuous authorization activities.

The Information Security Analyst, SME ( Steps 1 through 3 Pod Lead) translates priorities established by the RMF Steps 1 through 3 Lead into coordinated system-level assignments. The position supports IASS personnel, resolves technical and stakeholder dependencies, and maintains primary and backup coverage for assigned systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily technical coordination, workload tracking, mentoring, and authorization package readiness within an assigned RMF Steps 1 through 3 delivery pod.

  • Coordinate daily assignments, workload, due dates, dependencies, and backup coverage.
  • Guide IASS personnel on boundaries, categorization, control selection, inheritance, implementation statements, and evidence collection.
  • Review drafts for technical accuracy and readiness before formal Quality Analyses Team review.
  • Track TRT comments, missing artifacts, evidence requests, POA&M gaps, and quality corrections through resolution.
  • Coordinate with system owners, engineers, developers, and shared SMEs to resolve package dependencies.
  • Mentor junior and journeyman personnel and escalate schedule, capacity, technical, and risk issues to the RMF Lead.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and a final Secret clearance or higher
  • Relevant degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, subject to the SME LCAT and permitted substitutions.
  • Advanced RMF package-development experience and demonstrated technical team coordination or mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Federal categorization, control selection, SSP development, inheritance, and evidence traceability.
  • Strong technical review, stakeholder coordination, and workload-management skills.
  • Meet applicable LCAT certification requirements and maintain required credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP, CGRC, or CISM.
  • DOS ArchAngel and TRT experience; familiarity with approved SharePoint, ServiceNow, and workflow tools.
  • Experience leading system portfolios with concurrent authorization deadlines.

Success in this position will be demonstrated by balanced assignments, responsive technical support, complete packages, maintained backup coverage, and timely resolution of dependencies.
