Connected Logistics is seeking a Journeyman Information Assurance Security Specialist for RMF Steps 1 through 3 to assist in providing the Department of State Directorate of Technology (DT), Enterprise Architecture (EA), Cyber Security Team (CST) comprehensive cybersecurity support services to protect critical consular systems and data. The CST Cyber portfolio ensures compliance with federal mandates including the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF), encompassing security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and continuous authorization activities.

The Journeyman Information Assurance Security Specialist, RMF (Steps 1 through 3) develops and maintains assigned system packages using Department procedures and approved templates. The position coordinates with system stakeholders, validates evidence, and resolves comments while escalating complex control, architecture, or risk questions to senior personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for RMF analysis, authorization artifact development, evidence collection, and action tracking for moderately complex consular systems under Pod Lead and RMF Lead direction.

  • Develop system descriptions, boundaries, inventories, information-type mappings, and categorization documentation.
  • Apply approved control baselines and document implementation statements, inheritance, evidence references, and known gaps.
  • Maintain SSPs and supporting artifacts in ArchAngel and approved repositories.
  • Collect configurations, logs, screenshots, scans, procedures, diagrams, and other evidence from technical teams.
  • Coordinate privacy, contingency, risk, and writing support; track actions and resolve quality-review comments.
  • Support TRT reviews, implementation-readiness reviews, independent assessor requests, and backup system coverage.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and a final Secret clearance or higher
  • Relevant degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, subject to the LCAT and permitted substitutions.
  • Practical Federal RMF or ISSO experience developing and maintaining authorization artifacts with progressively independent responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, FIPS 199, control evidence, and POA&M processes.
  • Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CGRC, Security+, or a relevant cloud credential.
  • DOS, ArchAngel, SharePoint, ServiceNow, and authorization-review experience.
  • Familiarity with inherited controls and DevSecOps scan evidence.

Success in this position will be demonstrated by accurate assigned artifacts, timely evidence collection, responsive comment resolution, and growing independence in system-level RMF work.

This is a good-faith range based on factors such as your experience, geographic location, and any applicable contractual requirements, and may vary slightly.
