Do you enjoy working in a clean, organised environment and have a genuine care for animal wellbeing?
We're looking for a reliable and motivated Kennel Hand to join our team in Taumarunui. This is a part-time role working 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday (3:00pm - 5:00pm, can be flexible on start time if we found the right person), helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the animals in our care.
About the Role
As a Kennel Hand, you will play an important role in supporting our veterinary team by ensuring kennel facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail, and enjoys working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and replacing bedding in animal cages and kennels
Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining kennel areas
Cleaning benches, sinks, basins, ICU and isolation areas
Maintaining outdoor kennel areas
Handling laundry duties as required
Disposing of rubbish and recycling safely
Cleaning and replacing bowls, litter trays, and feeding equipment
Reporting maintenance or repair requirements
Following health and safety procedures and safe cleaning practices
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has cleaning experience (preferred but not essential)
Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Can work independently and manage their time effectively
Has good attention to detail
Is comfortable using cleaning equipment and products
Enjoys contributing to a team environment
