Social Service Agency is in need of an LMSW for their office. Temp to perm potential converting to $65,000-$68,000 based on experience

Harlem NY.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• •Provides Skill Building Services, including:
• •Establishing client treatment goals
• •Providing psychiatric supports
• •Individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, transitional counseling
• •Psycho-education and wellness education
• •Communicating with family, case planning staff and medical practitioners
• •Enhancing compliance with behavioral health expectations
• •Utilizing interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic models
• •Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior
• •Works collaboratively with State Plan Service providers, including Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment, along with Article 29 Clinic Staff.
• •Completes all training requirements, including Mandated Reporter training
• •Conducts individual psychotherapy on a regular basis and family therapy
• •Provides mental health referrals as needed
• •Attends IEP meetings and/or school related conferences.
• •Participates in weekly clinical team meetings to provide mental health updates as well as educational updates on children
• •Works in collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems and institutions to maximize scarce resources, as well as attends quarterly client service plan review meetings.
• •Regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all clients being served
• •Ensures quality assurance and excellence in service provision
• •Performs other duties as assigned
• •On call 24 hours crisis intervention for child/adolescents and foster parents

Requirements

EDUCATION:

• •Master’s Degree in social work
• •LMSW

EXPERIENCE:

• •Minimum of 2 years’ post-masters experience working with children, families and adolescent populations
• •Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and treatment
• •Knowledge of psychotropic medications and familiarity with medication risk and side effects
• •Strong mental health background; proficiency in mental health diagnoses

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• •Strong clinical skills and familiarity with CBT and TFCBT treatment
• •Strong communication and presentation skills; able to facilitate trainings
• •Strong interest in working with foster care youth and children and families at risk
• •Able to work independently and as part of a team
• •Able to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities, and allocate time and resources effectively
• •Able to develop and manage social work interns
• •Able to effectively meet and communicate face-to-face with Program stakeholders
• •Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life
• •Able to manage time effectively and determine priorities
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Electronic Medical Records
• •Detail oriented
• •Bilingual preferred
