Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Maintaining cleanliness of power equipment including: forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, and clamp attachments.
• •Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
• •Perform general warehouse maintenance duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment both in and outside the warehouse, including assisting with equipment maintenance and minor building and equipment repairs.
• •Possess a level of proficiency in all maintenance required programs including the recycling programs, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
• •Operate powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger, clamp attachments and sweeper/scrubber.
• •Read schematics
• •Responsible for minor facility and equipment repairs
• •Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call requests.
• •Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• •High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus.
• •Previous mechanical experience 1 to 2 years.
• •Accuracy and attention to detail
• •Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
• •Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• •Ability to work in warehouse environment which includes heat, cold, noise, dust
• •Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• •Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
• •Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• •Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
• •Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
• •Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
• •Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
• •Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $24.75 - $29.70
