This position plays an important role in maintaining a high standard of appearance and ensuring that members and guests have a clean, safe, comfortable, and well-maintained experience throughout the property.
The Clubhouse Maintenance Manager will work closely with the General Manager, department heads, and outside vendors to identify maintenance needs, complete daily repairs, manage preventative maintenance, and ensure that the clubhouse and surrounding areas are consistently maintained to club standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Daily Clubhouse Maintenance & Appearance
- Conduct daily inspections of the clubhouse, restrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, dining areas, offices, hallways, entrances, patios, and other member-facing areas.

- Ensure all member-facing areas are clean, organized, functional, and presented to club standards.
- Maintain a detailed list of open maintenance items and ensure issues are followed through to completion.
- Respond promptly to maintenance concerns reported by members, staff, and management.
- Assist with maintaining the overall appearance and organization of the clubhouse, including storage areas and back-of-house spaces.
- Help ensure seasonal furniture, equipment, décor, and other items are properly stored and maintained.
Preventative Maintenance
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for clubhouse equipment, fixtures, mechanical systems, appliances, and other facility assets.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing, electrical fixtures, doors, locks, lighting, HVAC-related items, restroom fixtures, kitchen equipment, and other building components.
- Identify potential problems before they become larger or more costly repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and completed repairs.
- Communicate larger maintenance concerns and potential capital needs to the General Manager.
Repairs & Work Orders
- Complete routine repairs and maintenance within the scope of the position.
- Coordinate outside contractors and service providers when specialized work is required.
- Obtain estimates and communicate repair needs and costs to management when appropriate.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure work is completed properly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation of repairs, invoices, warranties, and service records.
- Prioritize work based on member impact, safety, urgency, and operational needs.
Member Experience
- Understand that clubhouse maintenance directly impacts the overall member experience.
- Maintain a visible, professional, and service-oriented presence throughout the clubhouse.
- Respond to member concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicate maintenance issues that may affect members or club operations to the appropriate department heads and management.
- Take ownership of maintenance issues rather than simply identifying problems.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe environment for members, guests, and employees.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure maintenance practices follow applicable safety requirements and club policies.
- Assist with inspections and documentation related to building safety and facility operations.
- Properly operate and maintain tools and equipment used in the performance of the position.
Seasonal & Club Operations
- Assist with opening and closing the clubhouse and outdoor facilities for seasonal operations.
- Assist with seasonal preparation of patios, pool areas, outdoor furniture, storage areas, and other club facilities.
- Support club events by ensuring facilities are clean, functional, and properly prepared.
- Assist other departments with facility-related needs when necessary.
- Work closely with Golf, Food & Beverage, Events, Pool, and Administrative teams to support overall club operations.
Management & Communication
- Report directly to the General Manager or designated senior manager.
- Communicate daily and ongoing maintenance needs to management.
- Participate in regular maintenance and facilities meetings as requested.
- Maintain a clear list of completed, outstanding, and upcoming projects.
- Provide recommendations regarding repairs, replacements, and capital improvements.
- Assist management in developing annual maintenance budgets and capital improvement plans.
Qualifications

- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with members, guests, employees, management, and outside contractors.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move equipment and materials as required.
Personal Characteristics
The successful candidate should be:
- Proactive – identifies issues before they become larger problems.
