What we do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact

You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What you’ll do

Plant Maintenance Management: Oversee maintenance operations including networks, machines, forklifts, lifting equipment, warehouse racks, vehicles, and facility infrastructure such as utilities, IT, and CCTV. Daily tasks include scheduling repairs, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring smooth operation of plant equipment. Success means maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.

Facility and Safety Oversight: Manage facility administration, fire protection, personal protective equipment, security, and cleaning services. Participate in inspections by supervisory institutions and ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations. Travel may be required for site inspections and meetings.

Project and Investment Coordination: Lead strategic projects related to plant operations and digitalization initiatives. Supervise implementation of new machines and equipment, and manage budgets to optimize costs. Success is demonstrated by timely project delivery and cost control.

Contract and Subcontractor Management: Organize and coordinate teams and external companies providing maintenance services. Ensure subcontractors comply with safety training, work quality, and company policies. Negotiate minor repairs and monitor contract execution.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting: Conduct root cause analysis, monitor KPIs, define and optimize procedures, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Report progress and improvements to supervisors regularly.

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
