Summary

Duties
- Serves as a Mate/Dredge Control Officer aboard a Corps of Engineers vessel, stands regularly scheduled bridge watches.
- Duties consisting of complete navigation and control of the vessel steering or supervision of steering; controlling propulsion systems; operating pilothouse navigation, safety, and emergency equipment; and supervising the dredging functions.
- Directs subordinates in making repairs, applying troubleshooting techniques, and installing new equipment.
- Prepares correspondence, technical reports, status reports, fact sheets and other documentation for project execution and record keeping requirements.

Must possess and maintain a current, U.S. Coast Guard license for Master, near coastal, 1600 gross tons. Must possess and maintain an able Seafarer/able Bodied and Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC). Must possess and maintain STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) from the US Coast Guard.
