Summary
About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407TH Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
- Evaluate, plan, and distribute work assignments on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Develop performance standards, counsel employees on performance, and make formal and informal performance appraisals.
- Establish a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in a safe work environment while achieving management goals, and to promote efficient and economical work operations.
- Develop and establish internal procedures to be followed by subordinate leaders to assure effective control and direction of work activities and personnel supervised.
- Ensure stocked inventory is adequate for customer demands.
- Ensure inventories are being conducted in accordance with policies and procedures, while exercising control and accountability of supplies.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler Supervisor (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision to include 1) Planning daily work schedules and/or assignments based on priorities set by higher-level supervisors; 2) Explaining work requirements and methods to subordinates to ensure tasks are completed properly; and 3) Investigating work-related problems to determine their root causes. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Lead or Supervise Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Effort: Incumbent performs work on hard and irregular surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 40 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items. Working Conditions: Works continuously in, out and between warehouses and multiple locations in all kinds of weather. Some warehouses are unheated. Frequently exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc.
