The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of warehousing duties with responsibility of handling or overseeing one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse. The position requires the use of forklift trucks and light motor vehicles.
Duties
-Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective receiving operation. -Responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective storage operation. -Performs tasks involved in issuing and shipping items. -Operates forklift trucks and automated material handling and identification equipment to include mobile stock selectors and electromechanical automated equipment, such as high-rise automated storage and retrieval vehicles to move, stack and unstack, load and unload, bin, and position material. -Drives one or more types of trucks, such as pickup, panel, and flatbed trucks, which typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads at highway speeds.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 - Warehousing and Stock Handling Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: DRUG TESTING POSITION: This position is designated as a Drug Testing position and requires you to sign a Drug Testing acknowledgement letter. The local CPS will schedule you for a drug test. Please complete the Drug Testing form/letters in Onboarding Manager. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: This position requires successful completion of a medical examination prior to receiving a Firm Job Offer. Your local Civilian Personnel Office staff will schedule you for a physical. Please complete the Physical Requirement acknowledgement form in Onboarding Manager. SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position is a NONCRITICAL SENSITIVE position and may require a background security investigation. Your local Civilian Personnel Office staff will determine if you have the appropriate security clearance and if not, will initiate a Security Clearance Waiver letter and provide the Career Field Team with waiver or provide type of clearance, type of investigation, and date completed. DRIVERS LICENSE: This position requires a Driver's License. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
