Job Description:

Medical Assistant

Location: New Hyde Park, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-6p

Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)

In this role, you will:

• •Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• •Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• •Record patients' vital signs.
• •Prepare patients for examinations.
• •Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• •Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
• •Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
• •Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• •Other duties as assigned.

We require:

• •High School Diploma
• •Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• •Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• •Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• •Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• •Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
• •Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations

Salary: Starting at $23 per hour
