The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum has an opening for a full-time non-exempt Operations and Event Set-up Crew Member in the Operations Department.
Company Overview: Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, t he Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has been called the “Smithsonian of country music,” celebrated for its broad cultural impact, educational mission, and unrivaled collection of historically important artifacts. Chartered by the state of Tennessee in 1964, the Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization that documents and interprets the history of country music. The Museum collects objects and archival materials that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions.
First opened in 1967 on Nashville’s Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum launched its current downtown location in 2001. In 2014, the Museum unveiled a $100 million expansion that doubled its footprint. The Museum now encompasses 350,000 square feet of exhibition galleries, archival storage, retail stores, and event space. The Museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and many others recorded. In addition, the Museum offers the Taylor Swift Education Center for students, teachers, and families, and dedicated performance spaces in the CMA Theater and Ford Theater, both of which regularly host nationally recognized live music and cultural events.
In 2024, the Museum was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts by President Joe Biden. The medal is the highest award given to artists and arts institutions by the United States government. The White House Citation, which accompanied the medal, recognized the Museum’s work, which “preserves history, honors giants of the genre, and inspires future generations to write their own songs about the American story.”

Departmental Overview: Our department is responsible for security, housekeeping, courier services, and dock management. Our goal is to support to all departments in a professional manner as well as being a brand ambassador to external clients. We strive to provide excellent customer service to everyone we interact with on a daily basis so that we may exceed their expectations.
Job Overview: The Operations Technician will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of all events hosted by the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This position will assist the Operations department with duties including building walk-throughs, warehouse runs, distribution of deliveries, the organization of storage areas, and coordination of bus repairs. Working hours are scheduled based on event calendar; including nights, weekends and holidays. This position will report directly to the Manager of Operations.
Specific Job Duties:
- Duties include daily set up for events which include movement of tables, chairs, podiums, stage, pipe and drape, hanging of banners and other miscellaneous requests as well as set-up for 2|22
- Ensure that event space is re-set at end of event for next business day
- Ensure that entire front of house museum space is clean and organized throughout the day
- Assist with supervising temp staff, set-up staff, housekeeping staff, and vendors
- Ensure the cleanliness of the Facility, and event space meets CMHOFM expectations
- Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, pressure washing, etc. when needed
- Support all CMHOFM staff and assist with interdepartmental requests
- Perform other duties assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry a plus
- Previous experience as an operations tech with similar work
Essential Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and abilities needed for success in the position):
- Ability to multi task and problem solve
- Upbeat and energetic

- Strong communication skills a must
- This job will require working with the public and staff members
- Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and some holidays
- Must be able to lift 75lbs
