We are seeking a motivated Paralegal to join our growing State Arbitration and Worker’s Compensation team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including legal document preparation, communication with medical offices, and preparing/filing State-Arbitration briefs.
As a Paralegal at Gottlieb and Greenspan, you will be an integral part of our legal team, supporting attorneys in a diverse field of various states.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
Enter arbitration/case calendaring where appropriate to track filings and appropriately distribute information.
Perform elements of case management, including electronic file management and schedule tracking.
Regularly interact with clients to provide updates on their cases and to request further documentation.
Review briefs and filings for conformity with court-specific formatting, citation, and procedural requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required.
Paralegal certification preferred, not required.
Minimum 2+ years' work experience in a high-volume civil litigation practice as a paralegal. (Ample training on the relevant cases will be provided).
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite/Excel.
Experience developing and maintaining processes to organize and maintain electronic case files.
Preference in coordinating trial/arbitration logistics in either New York or New Jersey.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Positive, collaborative outlook, and strong interpersonal skills.
Preference for the ability to read and decipher medical EOBs
Preferred familiarity with CPT coding
Salary Range: $60,000-70,000 / year, commensurate with experience
