Decider.com, a New York Post Digital Network property, is seeking an enthusiastic part-time Weekend Writer. Are you obsessed with everything from House of the Dragon to Bravo, and can’t wait to dissect new episodes? Do you like to dive deep into interview subjects to find the surprising back story of how a show or character came to be? And do you like jumping into conversations to offer your unique take on breaking news, issues involving TV, and how they intersect with daily life and the viewing experience? Then this might be the job for you.

The ideal candidate will be a fan of TV, with strong writing and reporting skills. They will be responsible for devising innovative ways to provide in-depth coverage of the biggest shows on broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms; and have a handle on how to be reactive to daily breaking conversations, as well as looking ahead to what viewers will be talking about in the weeks and months ahead.

Please note: the schedule for this role is Friday (4pm-7pm), Saturday (7am-2pm), Sunday (7am-12pm). Schedule may vary based on business needs.

Required Skills:

• •A minimum of one year of hands-on, deadline-driven online editorial experience, preferably for an entertainment publication or online
• •Strong knowledge of the TV landscape — specifically, though not limited to, streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney+, HBO Max, etc. — and a passion for pop culture coverage
• •The ability to gather reputable news sources, and chase down leads
• •Familiarity with SEO best practices
• •Creativity and flexibility
• •Ability to juggle multiple assignments at once
• •Excellent time-management
• •Eager team player

This role is remote-eligible.

Base Pay Range: $25 - $35/hr We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
