As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will oversee the daily activities and workflow of the Patient Access area while providing compassionate, professional service to patients, families, and visitors. From the moment they arrive until they return home, you will help create a positive and welcoming experience.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.

Develop, implement and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as reminder, follow-up on no-show/cancellation program.

Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems.

Adjust employees, patients and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems.

Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank.

Produce reports as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED

Two years of Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or equivalent, including interacting with patients, physicians, and other departments on a problem resolution basis

OR three years of external outpatient scheduling experience, including resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of others

OR Associate Degree and one year of experience

OR Bachelor's Degree

Physical Requirements:

Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
