Malbon is hiring a Performance Marketing Manager to join our Digital team! This role will be based out of our HQ in Santa Monica, CA and report directly to our Director of Growth. Ideal candidates have hands-on paid media experience, with meaningful time in-house at a DTC or ecommerce company within the apparel, fashion, or lifestyle space.
Location: Malbon HQ is based in Santa Monica, CA. We are currently operating from a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in-office. This role is not eligible for remote or relocation.
What You’ll Do
Paid Media Execution & Optimization
Build, launch, and optimize paid campaigns day to day across Meta, Google (Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube), and TikTok
Own account architecture, campaign structure, audience strategy, and placement mix for all acquisition and retargeting programs
Manage daily budget pacing and reallocate spend in-flight against efficiency and volume targets
Set and manage bid strategies, including Smart Bidding and Performance Max, and maintain product feed health for Shopping and catalog campaigns
Serve as point of contact for platform reps; secure beta access and stay ahead of platform and privacy changes
Creative Strategy & Testing
Own the paid creative testing roadmap (concept, format, hook, and offer, and maintain) a consistent cadence
Write creative briefs for in-house creative team, grounded in performance data and platform-native best practice
Close the loop between results and production: identify winning creative patterns and translate them into the next round of briefs
Partner with Ecomm on landing page, offer, and promotional testing to improve on-site conversion from paid traffic
Measurement, Reporting & Budget Management
Own the channel reporting cadence to leadership, weekly performance, monthly business review, and post-campaign readouts
Build and maintain dashboards tracking spend, ROAS, CAC, blended MER, and contribution across channels
Design and run incrementality tests; triangulate between platform-reported results, GA4, and attribution tooling rather than accepting any single source
Partner with Finance on monthly and quarterly budget forecasting, scenario planning, and allocation
Cross-Functional Partnership & Channel Expansion
Partner with Ecommerce, Retention, Brand, and Merchandising on launch calendars, product drops, and promotional strategy
Test emerging channels (Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat, CTV, and affiliate) and recommend where to scale
Evaluate vendors and tooling; monitor competitive and category activity in golf and lifestyle apparel
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of hands-on paid media experience, with time in-house at a DTC/ecommerce brand with demonstrated ownership of a paid media budget at comparable scale
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Direct, hands-on-keyboard experience in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads: this role executes in the platforms, it does not solely direct an agency
Current fluency in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads at scale, including Performance Max and Smart Bidding
Working knowledge of GA4, Shopify, and an attribution platform (Triple Whale, Northbeam, or Rockerbox); comfort in a BI tool such as Omni, Looker, or Tableau
Creative judgment with the ability to brief, critique, and iterate on ad creative
Analytical fluency: test design, statistical significance, cohort analysis, and incrementality
Comfortable with imperfect attribution data; checks multiple sources and gives honest confidence levels instead of insisting on one number
Demonstrated working habit with AI tools for analysis, creative iteration, and workflow efficiency
Clear written communication to non-marketing stakeholders; able to explain what happened and what they recommend without jargon
Self-directed and comfortable operating in a lean team with limited agency support
Perks & Benefits
Benefits: Competitive plans for Medical, Dental, Vision
401(k) + matching
Generous PTO policy + observed holiday calendar
Monthly mobile/internet stipend
Employee discount for eligible Malbon products
