Behavioral Health Overview:

Join Sentara's Behavioral Health Care Center (BHCC) as the Director of Medical Operations (DMO), serving as the physician leader for behavioral health services across the Peninsula region . This unique opportunity blends leadership and clinical practice, allowing you to shape the growth of outpatient behavioral health services while maintaining a robust patient panel. Based at 801 Triton Court, Newport News, VA 23606 , you will oversee medical operations for the region's outpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, collaborating closely with APPs, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality behavioral health care.

Position Highlights:

  • Primary office: 801 Triton Court, Newport News, VA 23606
  • 0.8 clinical / 0.2 administrative FTE split
  • Flexible Monday-Friday schedule with autonomy to structure administrative time
  • No call responsibilities
  • Average outpatient volume of 14-16 patients per day
  • Treat a broad range of behavioral health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and more
  • Medical oversight of both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs
  • Opportunity to bridge traditional outpatient psychiatry with embedded PHP/IOP services
  • Collaborate closely with therapists and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Lead and support a growing team of APPs, with expansion planned from 3 to 6 providers

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $306,134.40 - $338,374.40 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
