Product Development Engineer

At Valmet, we design and deliver advanced technologies for sustainable production - spanning mechanical pulping, fiberboard, and biomass-based solutions for global customers. We’re now looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our Sundsvall team and help us develop cutting-edge machinery and processes.

About the position

In this role, you will collaborate closely with R&D, Sales, Delivery Projects, and Production, contributing to both product development and the continuous improvement of our workflows. As part of our product management team of 10 engineers, you will play a key role in the development and lifecycle management of our screening products, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and quality in a technically advanced environment. The position combines product development, product specialist responsibilities, technical support, and complex troubleshooting, while offering extensive global collaboration.

You’ll have the chance to:

Qualifications

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years of experience in machine design and product development roles

Ability to find solutions even when all facts are not known

Technical interest and curiosity and motivation to develop it further

Engaged team player with a strong drive to reach goals both as a team and as an individual

Proactively identifies opportunities and drives continuous improvement

Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results in a dynamic environment

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Customer and business oriented

Skills in modern 3D CAD and PDM tools

Fluency in Swedish and English.
