A Glimpse of the Job

As Program Manager for the MS Marketing Program at Mays Business School , you will play a central role in shaping the student experience from recruitment through graduation. Serving as a primary point of contact for prospective and current students, you will build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, support, and exceptional customer service. This highly visible role combines student recruitment, academic advising, strategic marketing initiatives, and the execution of impactful program events. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and confident communicating with various audiences, whether one-on-one or in front of a room. Success in this position requires a personable and professional approach, strong public speaking skills, and the ability to represent the program with enthusiasm and credibility. In this role, you will effectively manage competing priorities while ensuring a seamless experience for students and stakeholders. Salary: $58,000.00-$63,000.00/annually .

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in event management, project management, and program management.
  • TAMU experience.
  • Experience with board management and dealings with various stakeholders.
  • Compass experience.

Opportunities to Contribute

Program Administration & Operations

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administrative procedures for MS Marketing cohorts, including degree plans, transcript verifications, registration, and graduation processing.
  • Assist the Director with strategic planning, long- and short-term goal setting, and compiling reporting data for accreditation, ranking bodies, and career outcomes.
  • Oversee program purchasing activities and manage student recruitment and event budgets in coordination with the Business Administrator; utilize financial systems (e.g., Emburse).
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and build comprehensive "How-To" reference guides for program workflows.
  • Supervise, delegate tasks to, and mentor student workers.

Student Recruitment & Admissions

  • Plan and execute virtual and in-person recruitment events and info sessions to expand program awareness.
  • Represent the MS Marketing Program at graduate school fairs and recruiting events across Texas A&M and target universities.
  • Manage end-to-end admissions workflows: process applications, issue admissions decisions, and maintain data integrity within admissions software.
  • Serve on the Program Scholarship Committee to assist the MS Marketing Program Director with scholarship allocations, change requests, and scholarship awarding.

Academic Advising, Scheduling & Career Support

  • Serve as primary academic advisor for MS Marketing students across all cohorts; resolve registration errors, monitor course enrollment, and manage override requests with Director approval.
  • Collaborate with the Director to identify, cultivate, and promote employment and internship opportunities for students.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with prospective students, current cohorts, and former students.

Event Management & Student Development

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution for program events, including but not limited to Advisory Board Meetings, Executive Speaker Session, New Student Orientation/Howdy Week, Summer Site Visits, and Program Tailgate (vendor logistics, rentals, catering, setup/teardown).
  • Manage allocated budgets and vendor relationships for each event.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development workshops and experiential learning opportunities to enhance student career readiness.

Marketing & Departmental Support

  • Support broader departmental initiatives and strategic goals under the direction of the Director and Department Head.
  • Design creative collateral, update web content, and manage program-specific social media presence with assistance from the MS Marketing Student Worker.
