[What the role is]
You will play a key role in leading PUB’s asset accounting function, overseeing a broad portfolio of assets and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation. Beyond ensuring strong financial governance and reporting, you will have opportunities to shape asset accounting practices, provide advice on complex transactions, and drive process improvements and digital transformation.
[What you will be working on]
Your key responsibilities include:
Lead and develop the Asset Accounting team, providing direction, coaching and guidance to team members while managing priorities and ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of the team’s responsibilities.
Oversee end-to-end asset accounting operations for assets, including asset capitalisation, transfers, write-offs, depreciation, and month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
Provide accounting advice and solutions on asset-related transactions, partnering with stakeholders to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with applicable accounting standards and policies.
Deliver meaningful financial insights through management and financial reporting, including analysis of movements and variances in Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) and Intangible Assets (IA), to support management decision-making.
Strengthen financial governance and controls by establishing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity, accuracy and completeness of asset records.
Partner with stakeholders across PUB, including asset-owners and project officers, to address asset management matters, support business needs and foster sound financial management and accountability.
Drive transformation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify and redesign processes and leveraging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital solutions to improve efficiency, controls and service delivery.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who enjoys leading teams, solving problems and working across functions to improve the way things are done.
[What we are looking for]
A Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline, with approximately 8–12 years of relevant working experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, with experience or knowledge in fixed asset and lease accounting preferred.
Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to coach and develop team members and lead the team towards shared outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess accounting and business issues and develop practical solutions.
Experience in process improvement, transformation or digitalisation initiatives, with an interest in exploring how technology and AI can improve finance processes.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage and collaborate effectively across different functions and levels of seniority.
Good proficiency in digital and IT tools for financial analysis, reporting and process improvement.
A proactive and improvement-oriented mindset, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
This role will suit someone who is looking to take on broader ownership of an asset accounting function, develop a team, influence stakeholders and contribute to the transformation of finance processes.
This is a contract position.
