Hourly Pay Range:
$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Special Care Nursery Registered Nurse Transition Program
- Location: Elmhurst, IL
- Full Time: 36 hours/ week
- Hours: Nights, 7 pm – 7:30 am
- Transition program hours are day shift
- Precepted shifts may be on day and night shift
- Required Travel: Elmhurst Mother/Baby or Baby RNs in Labor & Delivery and/or Edward NICU
- Start Date: January 18, 2027
What you will do:
Endeavor Elmhurst Hospital is delighted to offer a Special Care Nursery Nurse Transition Program. Our Special Care Nursery is a Level 2E with 10 beds and single room setup. This program is for experienced nurses who have a desire to transition into the Special Care Nursery. During this program, candidates will train with a nurse preceptor for 16 weeks and will have dedicated education time.
Provides professional nursing care according to the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned unit or shift.
What you will need:
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current BLS through AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within six months of start date into position
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience required
