Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on repair technician to run our repair shop. This role covers the widest range of equipment in our business: valves, pumps, small engines, outdoor power equipment, and much more. You will diagnose problems, refurbish used equipment, and deliver high-quality repairs for both our customers and our own inventory. If you enjoy figuring out how things work and getting them running again, this job is built for you.

The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fuels, oils, solvents, fumes, and airborne particles, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in the shop at all times.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Repair: Diagnose, refurbish, and repair a wide variety of equipment, including valves, pumps, chainsaws, string trimmers, lawn mowers, generators, pressure washers, power tools, and other small engine equipment.
  • Diagnostics: Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments to identify mechanical issues and give customers clear, accurate repair recommendations.
  • Estimates: Prepare repair estimates, contact customers with quotes for approval before work begins, and keep them updated through completion.
  • Parts and Job Tracking: Order and track parts needed for repairs, and manage each shop job from intake to pickup.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed, keeping complete and legible records for customer reference and internal use.
  • Quality and Safety: Complete all work with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Shop Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop to support equipment longevity and operational safety.
  • Training: Stay current on technical knowledge of serviced equipment, pursuing additional certifications and training as required.
  • Pickup and Delivery: Pick up and deliver customer equipment as needed.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with team members across departments to deliver excellent customer service and keep jobs moving.
  • Cross-Department Support: Support other departments as needed, including sales and warehouse operations.
