Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, rinsing and polishing workstations, production and packaging equipment. This job requires good physical stamina, and the ability to perform light to heavy scrubbing, sweeping and rinsing. Positions are for both Night Shifts on C and D.

Job Description

Ha s knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their use, safety precautions, proper cleaning techniques, methods, and procedures.

Prepare s and/or mix es cleaning and sanitizing chemicals

Use s foaming equipment to apply cleaning chemicals to equipment

Scrub s equipment using scrub brushes and/or pads to clean, sanitize, and polish equipment using dilute d cleaning chemicals

Maintain s good housekeeping in his/her assigned area: Sweep s with a broom and/or squeegee, shovel, scrub s using scrub brushes and/ or pads and scrapers, and rinse s equipment with high pressure water and/or air hoses

Change s grader shaker screens in packaging rooms and in prep area when required

Wear required PPE.

Performs other duties as assigned

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Sanitation certification is required . If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.

Skills and Experience:

Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English (both written and oral) (Requirement may vary by location).

Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.

Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility .

Ability to perform basic math functions, required .

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Environment/Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently .

Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature

Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include : loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies

Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures .

Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment .

Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties . Ability to operate work related equipment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation

May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products

Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
