SECURITY SPECIALIST (SCI)

Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA HC/Data Center LOB.

Duties

• •Plans, designs, modernizes, and oversees physical security measures and systems for Data Center Floor Space, including intrusion detection, alarms, and access control, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• •Serves as industrial security liaison with senior contractor management, coordinating visit access procedures, Common Access Card (CAC) processing, and DD Form 254 Contract Security Classification Specifications.
• •Reviews and operationalizes higher headquarters SCI, SAP, and COSA physical security policies by authoring local standard operating procedure sand security plans
• •Provides specialized guidance across supported elements and maintaining comprehensive access control oversight for all SCI facilities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience managing and evaluating physical security operations, including intrusion detection systems, biometric and card access controls, perimeter barriers, and alarm monitoring for data centers and secure facilities (such as SCIFs or SAPFs) OR conducting Inspections & Assessments: Planning and executing routine self-inspections, vulnerability assessments, and physical security compliance reviews to identify security deficiencies, mitigate risks, and maintain regulatory compliance OR leading External Audits & Accreditations: Preparing for and coordinating formal government security inspections, staff assistance visits, and accreditation reviews; developing corrective action plans to resolve audit findings; and maintaining facility accreditation in accordance with DoD and federal security standards. Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level.
