SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the N03S SECURITY OFFICE of NAVAL INFORMATION FORCES.

Duties

• •You will supervise and direct personnel in performing physical, personnel, industrial, insider threat, and information security for the Naval Information Forces.
• •You will provide specific directions and guidance on how the mission is performed and provide process improvement techniques to increase efficiency and productivity of all security related programs.
• •You will interpret and apply current Executive Orders, DoW, DoN, and ICD/ICS security regulations and provide directions to management and personnel on all matters of derivative classification decisions and marking procedures for classified media.
• •You will serve as a Classification Advisory Officer (CAO) and perform classification reviews upon request for FOIA requests, resumes, operational documentation, etc., ensuring National, DoW and DoN interests are protected.
• •You develop and monitor procedures for the safeguarding of all forms of classified material, hardware and software belonging to the command.
• •You will develop and execute a security education program, produces specialized, comprehensive training aids and operating guidance covering all security disciplines for use by subordinate commands that meet National and Navy objectives.
• •You will participate in the budget planning process to identify and defend necessary resources to effectively carry out a robust security program.
• •You will initiate, monitor and evaluate investigations of security infractions, violations, and practices dangerous to security to determine possibility of compromise.
• •You will be responsible for providing briefings to on-site contractor personnel on command security procedures to include badge control, hand carrying of classified, prohibited items, recognizing security violations, and document control.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of policies, procedures, concepts, principles, systems, and methodology for security administration of multiple security disciplines and functions for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral information, such as Information, Industrial, Personnel, Physical, Insider Threat. Ability to assess security programs, threats, and vulnerabilities to recommend mitigating actions. Ability to develop guidelines, procedures, and other security related materials for use by organization and across organization domain. Ability to plan, organize, mentor and motivate staff. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
