Division: Africa Regional Hub (ARH)

Function: ARH Actuarial

Immediate Supervisor’s Position Title: Africa Prophet Lead

Location: Bengaluru, India

Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to support the Africa actuarial teams on Prophet modelling for the five Africa business units. The role will include responsibilities for enhancing reporting methodologies (IFRS17, EV, local statutory basis) in Prophet, and coding of new products in Prophet. The role will involve coordination and working together with the business units to understand product features and reporting methodologies and to share outputs and explain results. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for supporting complex reporting processes under IFRS 17, Embedded Value (EV) and regulatory frameworks.

  • Support in management of all Africa Prophet models. Working closely with Africa Prophet Lead to align on 2026 priorities and leading the execution of these priorities. Some examples include enhancements on EV variances calculations, moving from EEV reporting to TEV etc.
  • Execution of 2026 Prophet priorities
  • End to end coding of new products into Prophet. This also includes supporting on validation and sign-off of the new products.
  • Model documentation in line with code changes or new products and/or metrics coded
  • Ensure timely completion of coding of all agreed newly launched products in Prophet including validation checks, quantification of impacts and documentation of modelling approaches
  • Supporting various stakeholders with Prophet queries
  • Supporting business units with Prophet runs and production of reporting outputs
  • Supporting the pricing teams in production of IFRS17 metrics using Prophet for new/repriced products as/when required
  • On the job upskilling of BU actuarial resources on Prophet
  • Resolution of all Prophet related queries and engaging various stakeholders to explain methodology/output
  • Timely production of reporting metrics and explaining of results

Core requirements: Brief description of any technical skills or qualifications required

  • University graduate in Actuarial Science
  • Strong Prophet skills
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in life insurance industry
  • Experience in actuarial principles and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in English
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and peak workload periods effectively

Preferable skills: Brief description of any technical skills or qualifications preferred

  • Experience in Group financial reporting within a multinational organisation
  • Experience in IFRS 17 and EV knowledge is an advantage
