How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice:
As a member of the creative team, the Senior Art Director is responsible for creating both new design and executing against current brand standards in all channels. This position requires a proven track record of campaign concept development through to execution; excellence in graphic design; a strong knowledge of creative development processes; and experience developing creative solutions.
As Senior Art Director, a typical day might include a mix of the following:
Working closely with the VP, Creative on broad campaign planning and concepting for monthly and extended promotional time periods, including the creation of mood boards and high-level executional creative examples.
Working in tandem and often managing in-house photographer and copywriters to successfully execute brand vision, as well as leading the development of creative assets.
Problem-solving conceptually in collaboration with the broader creative, marketing and product development teams
Overseeing and participating in the successful concept development and execution of visual creative direction on assigned projects that successfully push the brand forward and increases customer interaction, including digital, print, video, and social programs
Regularly reviewing creative work of graphic designers, photographer, copywriter, and production artists to give creative direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other activities in the group.
Partnering with cross functional channels to strategize and plan customer-driven promotional collateral
Managing designers and photographers, set team expectations, and consistently meet deadlines
Reviewing creative work with our VP Creative Director to get feedback on direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other projects on the calendar
Understanding and responding to testing metrics and optimization efforts based on performance data to define and continuously improve the direction and execution of creative ideas
Presenting to cross-functional teams and executive team as required
Contributing to new business activities and inspire continuous engaging messaging for existing clients
Effectively and proactively managing your time, deliverables and deadlines with transparency
Being a positive influence and build team enthusiasm
Other responsibilities as assigned by your manager
The details:
Location: Downtown Seattle, Washington (Hybrid) preferred. Remote eligible.
Hours: Regular business hours PST
Physical requirements: Ability to sit for long periods of time and ability to handle long periods of screen time
Travel requirements: Up to 10%, primarily domestic with limited international travel
What you’ll bring to the table:
8+ years experience as a Senior Designer or Art Director, with at least 4 years people management
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Graphic Designer in an agency or in-house creative dept
An online portfolio of work which demonstrates your ability to turn raw ideas into engaging and compelling visual content
Typographic skills are a must and attention to elements and principles are required. Excellent skills with design software used in the design process, including, but not limited to, Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop
Expert Adobe Creative Suite and Figma skills
Ability to successfully perform in a fast-paced environment, while juggling multiple assignments and deadlines
Working knowledge of industry trends
Experience directing and editing photo and video shoots

Understanding of Direct to Consumer marketplace and ability to tailor communication efforts for a customer-focused, multi-channel experience
Strong knowledge of pre-press, color and printing process
Solid understanding of the entire web development process, including design, hosting, version control, development, deployment and some familiarity with backend functionality
Expert After Effects and Premiere skills
Beauty, Fashion, and experience with wholesale retail
Photography experience

Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:
$125,000 - $135,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
