In order to support our Procurement, Airbus is looking for a

Senior Buyer (d/f/m)

Our team is in charge of purchasing doors for all commercial aircrafts.

The product we are purchasing - fuselage door - is a very unique one, mixing several interfaces (cabin, system), with kinematic parts, in an international and diverse supplier landscape, giving the door purchaser a very interesting role.

We are an international Procurement team bringing together different nationalities, cultures, and unique talents every day.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Developing market strategies aligned with the Airbus Procurement vision and broader supplier strategy, in close alignment with your team leader
  • Identifying and aggregating demand, supply market research and assessment, supplier assessment
  • Running calls for tender to support business operational needs
  • Implementing contract/business relationship, monitoring supplier performance in cooperation with Supply Chain Quality, monitoring contract execution, managing contract amendments, conducting all relevant activities of the contract expiry/termination step, handling issues arising from supplier non-performance
  • Managing projects in the framework of the Multifunctional Team (project planning, reporting to the team leader, financial adherence)
  • Contributing to company cost improvement programs: coordinating all activities, identifying opportunities, establishing associated plans, elaborating business cases together with the Multifunctional Team and related sub-teams
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders and with suppliers

Your boarding pass

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in Procurement, Supplier Management, or Sourcing, managing large spend volumes (€100M+ p.a.)
  • You are customer- and goal-oriented with a strong "can-do" attitude and a hands-on approach
  • You are a strong team player with excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills in a multi-functional environment
  • You are comfortable and effective in working within international, multi-cultural teams
  • You speak English on negotiation level; German, French and/or other languages would be a plus
  • You are willing to travel regularly (primarily within Europe)
