A Day in the Life

  • The Mazor Robotics Program within Medtronic develops software-enabled technologies that support complex medical device systems used in patient care. This role is part of the Verification and Validation (V&V) function, focused on ensuring product quality through test strategy development, requirements traceability, manual testing, and test automation across complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • This position is based in India and follows a Flex work model, combining remote and in-office work. No travel is required for this role. This role is responsible for developing and executing verification and validation activities for complex medical device systems. The Senior Enterprise Software Engineer partners with cross-functional engineering teams to translate product requirements into test protocols, establish automated testing solutions, maintain design control documentation, and ensure complete requirements coverage throughout the product development lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop test protocols and validation strategies based on system and product requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scenarios.
  • Execute system-level and software-level verification activities for complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Perform requirements traceability analysis to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Create and maintain design control documentation in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and quality engineering teams to resolve product issues and testing challenges.
  • Identify technical risks, limitations, and verification gaps and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement of test methodologies, automation approaches, and product quality practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of software testing experience.
  • Experience developing test protocols and executing verification and validation activities for software-based systems.
  • Experience with software test automation frameworks and automated testing methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and configuration management tools.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining design control artifacts within regulated development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing medical devices or other regulated products.
  • Experience with Ranorex, Playwright, Selenium, C#, .NET, and Python.
  • Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) software regulations and guidance.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and related medical device standards.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams in product development environments.
