Senior / Principal · Remote in France · CDI

Be our first Field Engineer in France, joining a global field engineering team in Europe, US and India. Help major enterprises adopt Kestra, from the first technical conversation through production and expansion, and shape how we build Field Engineering in France.

You may know this role as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect or Pre-Sales Engineer.

  • Reporting to: Lead Field Engineer
  • Languages: Fluent French and English
  • Location: Anywhere in France, with customer visits when needed

Why Kestra

Orchestrate everything, everywhere. From one control plane.

Data, infrastructure, business processes and AI agents. Build, run and govern them all, in the cloud or on your own servers. AI agents follow the same rules as everything else.

We believe orchestration is becoming a shared layer of enterprise architecture: the layer that coordinates what runs across tools, teams and environments. Enterprises have accumulated isolated pockets of automation, each with its own rules and a partial view of dependencies. Hybrid cloud and AI agents make the need for a common foundation more urgent.

Kestra is building that foundation as an open-source platform. For enterprises, unified orchestration means less fragmented automation, consistent governance and the ability to introduce new use cases without rebuilding execution and control mechanisms each time.

Founded in France, we are growing our enterprise business in both France and the United States. In March 2026, we raised a $25M Series A led by RTP Global, with Alven, ISAI and Axeleo. Teams at JPMorgan Chase, Apple, TotalEnergies, Crédit Agricole, Leroy Merlin, Bloomberg and T-Systems run Kestra in production.

The opportunity

Our French customers include banks, insurers, industrial groups, energy companies and retailers. Their projects involve critical systems, complex migrations and demanding architecture reviews.

You will be the technical partner who helps them evaluate Kestra, make sound architectural decisions and reach production. You will stay involved as adoption grows, seeing the results of the choices you helped them make.

You will work directly with Product and Engineering, inspect the open-source code, and help shape what we build next. As our first Field Engineer in France, you will also establish methods and reference architectures that future colleagues can build on.

This is a senior individual contributor role, with level and scope matched to your experience.

What you will do

Lead technical evaluations with the Account Executive. Understand the customer's environment, agree on use cases and success criteria, build demos and proofs of concept, and design the target architecture.

Help customers reach production. Guide onboarding, train teams and review migration plans so customers can operate Kestra confidently.

Grow adoption within your accounts. Identify new teams and workloads with your Account Executive, building on your understanding of the customer's systems.

Help resolve difficult issues. Work with Support and Engineering on investigations, bringing customer context and clear communication.

Turn field experience into better products and practices. Give Product concrete feedback, create reusable blueprints and migration guides, and share useful knowledge with the open-source community.

What you bring

Enterprise customer experience. You have independently led technical evaluations or architecture workshops and can challenge and advise experienced technical leaders.

Hands-on engineering ability. You write and debug code, troubleshoot deployments and investigate failures across applications, infrastructure and networks.

Production orchestration experience. You have operated, integrated or replaced an orchestrator or a substantial automation setup that other teams depend on.

Depth in data engineering, platform engineering / infrastructure automation, or AI / MLOps. You bring expertise in one area and can learn across the others.

Ownership and communication. You can take an ambiguous project to a working outcome and explain your decisions clearly in French and English.

The work involves Kubernetes, Docker, YAML, Git, CI/CD, Terraform or OpenTofu, and enterprise security requirements. Depending on the account, you may encounter Python, SQL, dbt, Spark or Kafka, and migrations from Control-M, Automic, VMware vRA / Aria, Airflow or similar systems.

Your background may be in a vendor, consultancy, startup or enterprise platform team. We care about the work you have owned and the judgment you bring.

At Principal level, we also look for impact beyond your own projects: mentoring engineers, setting architectural direction or creating methods others adopt.

The demanding parts

Enterprise migrations take patience. Security reviews, legacy constraints and internal decisions can slow progress, and some evaluations will be lost for reasons outside your control.

Customers will expect clear thinking during difficult incidents. You will also balance their immediate needs with building reusable approaches for the team. Part of the playbook will be yours to write.

What we offer

Compensation benchmarked against US software vendors hiring for comparable roles in France, discussed in the first conversation.

BSPCE equity participation.

Remote work across France, with flexibility around customer and team commitments.

An annual company offsite.

Equipment, conference and training budgets, with time to learn.

How we hire

45 minutes with our Lead Field Engineer: your experience, a real architecture or project discussed in depth, and your questions.

45 minutes with Emmanuel, our CEO: Kestra's direction, your ambitions and how we would work together.

Two conversations, no take-home exercise, and a decision within a week of the first call.

Send your CV or LinkedIn profile.
