Immediate Supervisor’s Position Title: Africa Actuarial VCC Team Lead
Location: Bengaluru, India
Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to act as the overall owner of the Prophet models for the five Africa business units. The role will include responsibilities for enhancing reporting methodologies (IFRS17, EV, local statutory basis) in Prophet, and validation/sign-off of coding of new products in Prophet. The role will directly manage one junior Prophet resource. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for supporting complex reporting processes under IFRS 17, Embedded Value (EV) and regulatory frameworks, coordinating with multiple actuarial stakeholders in both the Africa business units and the Africa regional team.

- End-to-end management of all Africa Prophet models. Working closely with Africa Chief Actuary and Africa Actuarial VCC Team Lead to align on 2026 priorities and leading the execution of these priorities. Some examples include enhancements on EV variances calculations, moving from EEV reporting to TEV etc.
- Resolution of all Prophet related queries and engaging various stakeholders to explain methodology and output
- Execution of 2026 Prophet priorities
- Managing the coding/validation/sign-off of new products into Prophet with the support of the junior Prophet resource
- Model governance, documentation and compliance
- Ensure timely completion of all agreed newly launched products into Prophet including validation checks, quantification of impacts and documentation of modelling approaches
- Managing the junior Prophet resource and upskilling him/her on Prophet
- Upskilling of BU actuarial resources on Prophet
Building a high-performance culture in a collaborative environment
Core requirements: Brief description of any technical skills or qualifications required
- University graduate in Actuarial Science
- Qualified or nearly qualified actuary
- Strong Prophet modelling skills with minimum of 8 years in Prophet modelling experience
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in life insurance industry
- Experience in actuarial principles and methodologies, with demonstrable experience in Embedded Value and IFRS 17 reporting
- Experience in directly managing small teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in English
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and peak workload periods effectively
Preferable skills: Brief description of any technical skills or qualifications preferred
Experience in Group financial reporting within a multinational organisation
